Having a pool at your home is a lot of fun. At the same time, it does mean you have extra household maintenance to support when it's in use. Whether you're new to owning a pool or you want to refresh your supplies, here's some pool maintenance equipment everyone can benefit from.

Chemical Measuring Supplies

Most swimming pools require chemicals to maintain an environment that's safe for you to swim in. Certain chemicals combat the spread of viruses and bacteria. As a result, if someone introduces them to your pool, your chemicals can kill them off. Additionally, they're useful for stopping the spread of algae. Although you need chemicals to keep your pool hygienic, it's equally essential to not add too many. Adding too many can make the water harmful to your skin. To get your measurements right, try chemical measuring jugs and scoops.

Tablet Dispensers

Even if you're in a good routine with your pool maintenance, it's easy to forget to add chlorine tablets. One way to avoid mistakes is to use an automatic tablet dispenser. The dispensers will drop tablets at intervals that suit you. Some also come with useful tools built-in, such as a thermometer. When using a tablet dispenser, make sure you program it so that it dispenses the tablet before people start using the pool for the day.

Handheld Leaf Skimmers

If foliage surrounds your property, there's a chance you walk out to your pool each morning to find that leaves are sitting in there. Even if you use a solar cover, they may still find their way beneath it. Although your other cleaning tools do a lot of work, it's useful to have a handheld leaf skimmer to move larger items. When the skimmer has the right netting, it can also prove useful for removing insects and other light forms of debris.

Automatic Cleaners

Automatic pool cleaners detect dirt and do the hard work for you. If you buy one that's particularly advanced, it will program itself to kick in at a time when your pool is dirtiest. Additionally, you can buy automatic cleaners that you can program in advance. Cleaners are essential for tackling the larger forms of dirt and debris that your chemicals won't tackle. They're also adept at removing oils, which naturally float off your body each time you use your pool. If you do invest in a cleaner, make sure you check the warranty agreement to understand when you need to replace it.
